“Have you repented your sins? Psalm 51:17”
For the purpose of this article, I want to explore the Word of God and help you learn simple lessons that will help you work your way. Some of us are highly connected to our Traditions. For others, it’s very tough to penetrate into details of our traditions.
Repentance is an amazing process that is full of paradoxes and surprises. For the aim of Repentance is to turn away from that which caused you to sin. So, it’s not a rebirth per se. The move of Repentance is a resolve to want to get away from the sin which you committed and to live life purely, without it, one moment at a time.
Repentance may sound easy but to do it, you need the right attitude and intentions. Repentance is the starting point in overcoming a habit that causes obstacles to your success. You resolve to break a habit and you keep on confessing your sins by the water fountain of Christ like Comforter in the Holy Spirit and you will begin to experience freedom from that habit.
As you begin to break the bad habit, your mind is filled with thoughts from the fountain of wisdom. This is what the word of God means by Repentance. Webster says to repent means to change your opinion or give up a particular way of thinking.

What does it mean to change your opinion? Webster defines a change of mind as a conviction of error, error of fact, or error of principle. There have been cases that occurred where a person felt ashamed of his sin and so the confession of his sin was made without any anguish. This shows the power of conviction. In him, the conviction was made of his sin, and this made him live a different life than he had before.
A conviction of sin means that your mind is made up of a certain way of thinking. For a while, you live a life that is different from the way you used to. But all this is only a shadow. In the future, you will become accustomed to thinking in a manner that is more proper for you. Your thoughts are transformed and your world is transformed.
Perhaps, your understanding of sin is that of a sparrow falling on your foot. But this should not be your first response to sin. For all the temporary difficulties that you go through, Christ has the absolute ability to carry you through to the spending place of your soul. He is the supreme comfort for every temporary and conflagration that comes your way.
He is the comfort that helps you to relax into the present, for He is the Alpha and Omega, the Lucky One, the Man of the creation, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. You will go through many struggles that will be teaching you to rest in Him, to trust in Him, to slow down in fretting, to keep your eyes on Him, and to learn to trust Him for everything.
This is the reason why every trial seems to be teaching you another lesson. Why pray when you go through long trials? God is infinitesimal. He is the smallest and yet is the Infinite, the Supreme. He is the ancient one that stretches way beyond the human mind and beyond human wisdom.
He is the Omega, the Beginning, and the End, the One that creates continuously through unbroken, innumerable, and uncountable creations. He is the Healer, the Comforter, the Way, the Truth, the Life, and the One that lovingly, but firmly also compassionately silences the fretting of your heart. God is Unchanging, and He is always looking for those that will acknowledge and worship Him with their lips, but also with their hearts.
So, if our Heavenly Father has many blessings, what becomes of us? If our Heavenly Father is really the God of all creation, how come we are not touched with these blessings? Maybe it is because we did not ask or we did not believe Him enough, or we thought He abandoned us, or we were in the wrong place at the wrong time, or we were just blind to the truth. Whatever the reason, we are yet treated with condescension because we don’t meet the worldly requirements of religion.
We are not really all that special, so we don’t really belong in the church where the High Priest resides, but we sure seem to feel good when we attend worship services. We forget that our favors are really short-lived and our promises are conditional.
You can be really special at a Bible study, Sunday School, or whatever church you attend, but don’t deceive yourself, you are not really a special believer. You are in the wrong organization. You are not really a part of the family of God; you are really just a sheep in a pen.
