Hope and a Prosperous Future
And as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them to do. But God hath revealed them to us by His Spirit: for The Spirit sear rideth all things, yea, the deep things of God. KJV
Let’s look at part of today’s scripture from this chapter. I would like to focus on Jeremiah 29:11. As it is written, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. assures the Lord, and He will bring it to pass.” Read this verse carefully and really dissect it.
God has not forgotten about those to who He has given His love. He prepares big deliverance for them if they call on Him. He is there in times of trouble and distress. He called out His people to show His strength in a time of total darkness. He never completely forsakes them. Why should we?
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”
Let’s dissect this verse and try and get a feel for what He is saying.

Plan no. 1: He is our Creator, Lord, and Savior. We received His love when we gave our life to Him. His grace is what gave us hope in our future that we were not sure of. We needed His help. His grace was our lifeline needed to carry on.
plan no. 2: He is the beautician of the soul. We needed His eye to see ourselves as we truly are in the eyes of God. His beauty was only partially felt until God’s grace became our way of sharing in His beauty.
plan no 3: He is our healer. We needed His hands to help us through the pain we experienced. His grace healed us.
plan no 4: He is our provider. We needed His provision to have enough food and clothing for our trip. His grace was our food and clothing.
plan no 5: Our greatest honor is to serve the Lord. We could not accomplish this without His help. His service to others adds no less than joy to our life.
I didn’t even begin to mention all the other plans that could have resulted from our obedience in plan number 4.
I am reminded of the following verse: “In the same way, out of your belly, I shall bring forth the Son of Man. His image shall be known in us and in our children, for he shall be the firstborn of all creation.” Isaiah 9:6
When we think of God, we think of beauty. As beautiful as He is, not everyone will see Him that way. For some people beauty is deceptive. They will only worship a God that they can see. There are however many testimonies of people who have seen the Lord as they really are and have had encounters with Him where they saw the glory and the power of God flow through their life.
One of the testimonies is the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:18-25. These noblemen went to consecrate Jesus’ tomb but while they were there, the stone was rolled away. Later the disciples saw the tomb but when they entered it, they saw only a shadow. But when the shadow appeared to them, they were prompted to go and see the underlying stone. It was indeed a stone covered with gold – Jesus’ body.
There are many Bible references and stories to lend weight to this point of our spiritual growth. The power of God is still felt when seeking to know Him.
Seek God while He may be found.
While there are references to the disciples seeing the stone taken away, note that the disciples pursued the Obsidian until they were able to catch it by its chain. They held onto the sight of the Obsidian with expectation, only to see that it had already moved. After this, they returned to the other apostles and the Lord confirmed their interpretation (Acts 5:27).
Endeavor to do above and to avoid the temptation to fall into the trap of learning to love God through what you are taught (Matthew 7:7-8). Let your principles stand firm and strong. The power God promises will pull storms in your life and will deal a punishing blow to anything that stands opposed to it.
