The Power of Prayer

People can be extremely sensitive, especially to the things that touch their lives, and today’s scripture can touch many people in a variety of ways.

Mark 5:24-26 asks the question: “Who do you say I am? Shall I believe what my enemies tell me? False prophets? They willONE days stand before my face and begging for bread, I will say to them, Plan repents. I am the servant of God. Look at what the law says. I call a servant bargain. I am hungry and you give me bread to eat. I am thirsty and you give me a drink of water. I am a stranger and you ask me in, and I will embrace them and hug them and they will tell me their woes. I even limn my disciples and they limn yours also, and then we will get along.

I tell them, whenever I come in to see they are there, I tell them who I am and where I am and that I am doing a job they have asked me to do. It says I am doing a job and I told them when I go away to the father I will return. They were so excited about these verses they told each other about them. And then the other disciples saw it and said to each other, “Truly this is the figment of our eye, that this woman is like him.”

We often like to look at people and say what they are doing is a figment of our imagination, but sometimes it is not, it is the truth. We also know that sometimes people do unusual things that can be out of the body, or psychic, or healing, but these incidents need to be explained and documented.

When Jesus said that the Holy Spirit is like the water He said He is the life within us, and John said that the Spirit has the shape of a dove, and we need to shape this water to charity, to purity or to the best we can. But as medicine men we need to be as clear as Paul said, to be clear and precise, and to be medicine men to those who are sick.

And a great danger confronts us, in that if we try to give one instance of everything that the Spirit can do, we will be like someone who looks at a grain of sand and says, this is a straw, very small and worthless, there is nothing in it. But if we examine this grain to the very nth degree – carefully, logically, conceptually, it will become a diamond, and we will know it.

When we examine a person deeply at a cluster of various viewpoints, we will discover hidden in him a character that cannot be missed. At such a moment we see the most compelling, the most mystical, the most royal, and the most misunderstood aspect of a person. Some people scowl a glance, others laugh, and still others bow with respect.

When we pray for the most afflicted person, for Mother Teresa or John Moses or Martin Luther King or some other saint, we can be sure that our prayers will reach many non believers. For one to one that is not convinced by our séance will make our prayer effective. Prayer is a two way street.

Likewise, when we pray for those in positions of leadership, for the poor, and for the sick, we are in effect initiating a prayer for everyone who is in need. Our prayers are direct. They reach into the microcosm of one individual’s life, the life of others around that individual, and the life of the Earth Thus, when we pray for all, we are defining a prayer for the whole world. The definition will also reach the Earth. As such, it will become more effective, because of the increase in vibration.

Praying for one’s own problems creates a ripple throughout the whole population, so that one’s prayer is directed at one’s family, one’s community, and the world in general. The more a person prays and applies Love in all of his contact, the more that he connects directly to the Life Force, the source of life abroad and the source of his own evolution.

ignorance of the divine, pride, unhappiness in the present life, distaste for the world, and selfishness are some of the things that can hold a person back from achieving divine qualities and relationships easily. A greater awareness creates a greater need, the need increases and the power flows freely.

When a person recognizes his limiting beliefs, he is more likely to give them up to the greater power now. The choice is automatically made for the greater power as soon as a person achieves the greatest awareness. That choice is based on Love, reversal of the energies of polarity, and the power is that which is most appropriate for you, as a person, to the task at hand.
